Angus Taylor denies $15k donation claim in NSW Liberal Party probe

Federal opposition leader Angus Taylor has publicly denied any payment to the ultra‑conservative “Reformers” faction of the New South Wales Liberal Party. The claim stems from a WhatsApp message aired at a hearing of the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), which alleged Taylor agreed to a $15,000 injection and $3,000 monthly donations to the group.

ICAC is investigating alleged illegal donations and branch‑stacking involving the Reformers, fugitive property developer Jean Nassif, and several senior Liberal figures. Taylor said no request has been made for him to appear as a witness and stressed he is not a party to the proceedings, urging the commission to conduct its work without political interference.
