ANH intervention results in 17 million liters of fuel seized
One month after the intervention of the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH), Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energies Marcelo Blanco reported the seizure of 17 million liters of fuel and the arrest of 31 individuals involved in illegal activities.
Authorities reported that approximately 10 million liters of gasoline and 7 million liters of diesel were confiscated and handed over to Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) for legal sale. Through the B-SISA system, officials blocked 6,700 license plates due to irregular loading practices. The crackdown also resulted in the seizure of 24 vehicles and the neutralization of eight motorized units equipped with additional tanks.
Minister Blanco noted that following the removal of diesel subsidies, illegal activities have shifted toward gasoline. Officials highlighted irregularities in fuel consumption, noting instances where vehicles using natural gas (GNV) loaded 337 liters in a month, significantly exceeding the average gasoline vehicle consumption of 110 liters. Additionally, the intervention commission has implemented regulatory changes to reduce administrative procedures from several months to 48 hours.
