ANIEF urges ATA provisional assignments and reports 6,000 new Catholic teachers

ANIEF union representative Cesare Antifora warned school support staff (ATA) that provisional assignment procedures are ongoing and reminded teachers of the July 29 deadline to submit their 150 preferences for temporary contracts and GPS‑First‑Level positions. The union is assisting workers with application checks, grievance handling and guidance to avoid missed opportunities.

Separately, ANIEF secretary‑general Daniela Rosano announced that after a 20‑year hiatus the union secured two recruitment contests for Catholic religion teachers, resulting in more than 6,000 new hires this year and an expected 2,000 additional appointments next year. She emphasized continued support for teachers’ career progression and compliance with legislative provisions.
