Anil Sharma, BJP MLA and former UP Minister, passes away
Anil Sharma, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA representing the Shikarpur assembly constituency in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, has passed away. He died at a private hospital in Delhi after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Sharma was a veteran politician who served as a four-time MLA. His political career included winning the Khurja assembly seat twice on a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ticket in 2002 and 2007. He later joined the BJP and was elected from Shikarpur in 2017 and 2022. During the first term of the Yogi Adityanath administration, he served as the Minister of State for Forest and Environment.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep condolences, speaking with Sharma's son, Kush Sharma, to offer support. Other senior leaders, including Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, also paid tribute to his service to the state and his constituency.
