Animal Data Analytics to lead Segovia's meat sector innovation hub
The Segovia Provincial Council (Diputación de Segovia) has awarded the strategic management of the Knowledge Transfer Center (CTC) to Animal Data Analytics. The contract, signed by Council President Miguel Ángel de Vicente and CEO Carlos Piñeiro, tasks the company with directing and implementing an innovation hub focused on advanced digitalization, including Blockchain and IoT technologies, for the meat sector.
The project aims to foster specialized employment through a support office and mentorship for professionals within local companies. Approximately 26 businesses across the porcine, ovine, bovine, and poultry subsectors are expected to benefit. The contract has a budget of 850,000 euros (including VAT) and a 24-month execution period spanning 2026 to 2028.
Operating under the Territorial Promotion Plan of the Junta de Castilla y León, the CTC will facilitate the transfer of technology from universities and research institutes to the business community. Key objectives include achieving total traceability and developing technological packages for SMEs. Any custom software and infrastructure developed will be owned by the Segovia Provincial Council and released as open source. Additionally, a sustainability plan will be created to transition the CTC into a permanent, self-sufficient technological center.
