Animal deaths reported in Maddaloni and Foggia

Reports of animal deaths have emerged in two different Italian locations. In Maddaloni, the carcass of an animal, likely a lamb, was discovered in a bag near an animal cemetery on via Starzalunga. Local municipal police coordinated the removal of the remains. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of death or whether the animal was a victim of disease or mistreatment.

In Foggia, residents in via Sprecacenere reported finding dead dogs with injuries consistent with an attack. Anna Rita Melfitani, president of the animal rights association “Guerrieri con la Coda,” has urged pet owners to secure their animals. While Melfitani suggested a wolf might be responsible based on witness accounts, this remains an unconfirmed hypothesis pending official investigation.
