Animal rescue stories reported in Turkey

Two separate incidents involving rescued cats have been reported in Turkey. In the Şemdinli district of Hakkari, a cat named Diren survived after being struck by a vehicle. The accident resulted in the loss of one eye and a fractured lower jaw. Following intensive care and a multi-hour surgery involving a jaw implant at a clinic in Van, the cat is recovering under the care of animal lover Fadime Kıvcı.

In the Efeler district of Aydın, a cat named Jilet survived a fall from a fourth-floor window. Local citizens managed to prevent a fatal impact by spreading a cloth below the building. The cat, which has become a neighborhood mascot, is being cared for by local shopkeepers and a hairdresser named Nuray Akkurt.
