Animal rights activists protest ‘tiro y arrastre’ in Valencia

Activists from the Plataforma Defensa Animal held a protest in front of the Valencia City Council to oppose the practice of ‘tiro y arrastre’ (pulling and dragging). The demonstrators expressed opposition not only to animal abuse but to the general use of animals in human traditions and entertainment.

Biological experts cited during the protest noted that such events cause significant stress to horses due to heavy weights, hostile environments, extreme temperatures, and loud noises. Critics argue that these spectacles promote human dominance and submission rather than understanding between humans and animals, characterizing the use of animals for entertainment as a violation of their interests.
