Animal shelters in Croatia and Slovakia host adoption events

Regional animal welfare organizations in Croatia and Slovakia are hosting major adoption and awareness events this week to support shelters facing high numbers of animals.

In Viškov, Croatia, the local animal shelter is celebrating International Animal Protection Day on October 4. The event will feature workshops, sports games, and a flea market. A significant highlight this year is a dedicated area for over 30 puppies that recently arrived at the shelter.

In Bratislava, Slovakia, the 15th edition of the ‘Find a Pet’ adoption event will take place this Sunday, October 4, at Aupark. Organized by the Alliance of Animal Protection Associations, the event brings together eight shelters from across Slovakia. The initiative aims to facilitate adoptions during a period when shelter capacities are strained and adoption rates are typically low.
