Brazil animal welfare initiatives focus on adoption and health

Various animal welfare initiatives and adoption events are taking place across Brazil. In João Pessoa, the municipal government is conducting ‘Sábados da Proteção Animal’, offering scheduled sterilization for dogs and cats alongside rabies vaccinations to aid in population control and public health.

Other regional efforts include an adoption event in Goiânia organized by the Vida Lata group, which uses a themed festival to raise funds for animal care. In São Paulo, the Instituto Cãodeirante is hosting a specialized event at Shopping Parque da Cidade focused on the adoption of pets with disabilities to combat prejudice.

Additional community actions include adoption fairs in Maceió through the Focinho Responsável program, and an event by the Adasfa association at Shopping Jardins in Sergipe, which aims to find homes for approximately 30 rescued animals.
