Animal welfare authorities conduct rescues in Mexico and Ecuador

Local authorities in Mexico and Ecuador have successfully conducted animal rescue operations following citizen reports.

In Progreso, Mexico, the Fauna Protection Unit rescued a dog trapped in a difficult-to-access mangrove area. The animal was stuck on a steep slope amidst dense vegetation. Following the rescue, the dog was stabilized with food and water and underwent a veterinary evaluation to monitor its health.

In Riobamba, Ecuador, municipal personnel rescued a dog that was found chained and suffering from alleged mistreatment. The animal was transferred to the PATITAS center for veterinary care and recovery. Local authorities stated they will initiate administrative and punitive actions against those responsible in accordance with animal welfare regulations.
