Animal welfare concerns reported in Terrassa and Toledo

In Terrassa, Spain, the neighborhood platform “Terrassa Denuncia” has raised alarms regarding a potential infection source in Vallparadís Park. Residents report that several dogs have fallen ill or died after visiting the green space. Local pet owners attribute these incidents to a rat infestation caused by neglected sewage systems and accumulated waste. One resident reported her dog suffered from severe hemorrhagic gastroenteritis and multi-organ failure following a walk in the park.

In Toledo, Spain, the Civil Guard is investigating the deaths of 14 dogs found in a facility in the La Jara region. Authorities discovered the animals dead in enclosures without food or water. Investigators also found remains of carcasses being burned in a bonfire alongside trash. A microchip recovered from the ashes allowed officials to link the remains to animals registered to a detained individual. The AnimaNaturalis International Foundation has joined the legal proceedings to monitor the case, which involves dogs used for hunting activities.
