Animal welfare groups seek urgent aid for rescues and dolphin transfers

In Argentina, the Catamarca-based foundation ‘El Club de los Bichitos’ has issued an urgent request for a temporary physical space. Founded by Karen Virginia Delgadino, the organization is currently unable to guarantee the care of rescued animals or accept new cases due to the lack of a facility. The foundation is seeking any available space to ensure the continuity of its rescue operations.

In Mexico, activists and animal welfare organizations are campaigning for the immediate transfer of nine dolphins currently held in a closed facility near Ventura Park in Cancún. The facility was shut down by Profepa in October 2025. The dolphins, consisting of two females and seven males, suffer from chronic illnesses including respiratory, gastrointestinal, and ocular issues. While three individuals are in critical condition, advocates are calling on Semarnat and local authorities to relocate the remaining six to marine pens in Isla Mujeres or Cozumel to provide natural seawater and specialized veterinary care.
