Animal welfare incidents and adoption events reported in Brazil
In Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre, the animal protection group Patinhas Felizes reported the theft of two puppies from a temporary shelter on Friday night. According to the group, an individual known locally as ‘Bananinha’ allegedly invaded the space and took the animals. The group is working to file a police report and is requesting community assistance via social media to locate the puppies and ensure their safety.
In Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, the fourth edition of an animal adoption fair was held at Parque Tia Nair. Organized by the Adjunct Secretariat for Animal Welfare (BEA), the event resulted in the adoption of six dogs, including five two-month-old puppies. The municipal program provides rescued animals that have undergone veterinary screening, including vaccinations and deworming, with the city guaranteeing free neutering for puppies once they reach maturity.
