Animal welfare initiatives reported in Votuporanga and Jales
In Votuporanga, Brazil, the Secretariat of Animal Welfare reported 65 adoptions of dogs and cats during October. These results were supported by three pet adoption fairs held throughout the month at locations including Nutrial Pet Center, De Haro, and the Conecta Criança event at Parque da Cultura. The initiative involved partnerships with the private sector to increase awareness and promote responsible adoption.
In Jales, Brazil, the municipal government and the State of São Paulo are organizing a free mass sterilization and identification event for dogs and cats. Scheduled for November 7 and 8 at the Nipo Jalesense space, the program is part of the Pro Pet SP state initiative. The action will provide 265 spots using a mobile surgical unit from Castramóvel Brasil. Interested residents must register in person on November 4 and 5 at the Secretariat of Environment.
