With rising temperatures, experts highlight the increased risk of heatstroke in pets. Symptoms to monitor include intense panting, excessive salivation, lethargy, loss of coordination, vomiting, or tremors. Certain physical traits increase vulnerability, particularly in brachycephalic breeds such as bulldogs, pugs, and Boston terriers, whose facial structure can make breathing difficult in heat. Owners are advised to provide constant access to fresh water, avoid walking pets during peak heat hours, and never leave animals in parked vehicles.
