Animals escape during festivals in New Mexico and Portugal

In Santa Fe, New Mexico, a horse escaped just before the La Gente parade, a part of the Fiesta de Santa Fe celebrations. The animal ran through the streets and was eventually cornered by police officers on motorcycles at Canyon Road. A livestock handler used a rope to control the horse, which was returned to the parade lineup without injury.

In Vila Viçosa, Portugal, a bull escaped its enclosure during the Festa dos Capuchos festivities at Praça da República. The animal damaged several vehicles after lifting a protective barrier, but no injuries were reported. Following the incident, the bull was immobilized and organizers reinforced safety protections to allow the event to continue.
