Animals Rescued from Floodwaters in Texas and Brazil

Two separate water‑related rescues were reported. In Austin, Texas, two paddleboarders found a raccoon stranded by rising floodwaters and, initially mistaking it for a dog, retrieved the animal safely.

In Guarujá, São Paulo, Brazil, the Environmental Military Police responded to a call about a senior‑looking dog nearly submerged in a canal. Officers pulled the dog out, gave it a bath and food, and transferred it to the municipal animal shelter, where it was found unharmed and later reunited with its owner.
