Batman: Knightfall animated trilogy trailer unveiled at Annecy

Warner Bros. Animation and DC have released the first trailer for an upcoming R‑rated animated trilogy adapting the 1993‑94 "Knightfall" comic saga. The teaser debuted at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France and confirms the project will be split into three films – Part 1: Knightfall, with Part 2: Knightquest and Part 3: KnightsEnd planned for later releases in 2026.

The story follows Bane’s plan to break Batman by freeing the inmates of Arkham Asylum, forcing the Dark Knight into a relentless fight that pushes him to his physical and mental limits. Voice talent includes Anson Mount as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Michael Mando as Bane and Pablo Schreiber as Jean‑Paul Valley/Azrael. Jeff Wamester directs and Jeremy Adams scripts the first installment.

The trailer showcases Gotham in chaos, with villains such as Joker, Two‑Face, Riddler, Scarecrow and Mr. Freeze appearing alongside Bane’s assault. The film carries an R rating (or equivalent 17+ classification) for strong violent content. No official release date has been announced, but the film is expected to arrive later this year on home‑video and digital platforms.
