AnimaWings insolvency request rejected by Bucharest Tribunal
The Bucharest Tribunal has rejected an application by airline AnimaWings to enter insolvency proceedings. The airline had sought judicial reorganization at the end of September, citing a temporary financial blockage and the need for a legal framework to restructure accumulated obligations and ensure flight continuity.
The court has separated the claims filed by numerous creditors, including Banca Transilvania, ROMATSA, and several Romanian airports such as Oradea, Suceava, Brașov-Ghimbav, Craiova, Sibiu, Arad, and Timișoara. These individual claims are scheduled to be analyzed independently in separate judicial proceedings.
AnimaWings previously suspended all flights until October 24 following the withdrawal of Airbus A220 aircraft from its fleet. The company had reported losses exceeding 22 million euros in 2025.
