This suspension follows the airline's filing for insolvency at the Bucharest Tribunal on September 30. The company attributed the financial distress to recurring technical issues with its fleet, rising operational costs, and a difficult economic environment. Financial records indicate the company reported losses of over 22 million euros in 2025.

As part of the fleet restructuring, several Airbus A220-300 aircraft have been removed from service. Flight records show that two of these aircraft were flown from Bucharest to Toulouse on the night of September 30. The Bucharest Tribunal has scheduled a hearing to review the insolvency request for October 14 at 11:00. Animawings has indicated it will process passenger refunds in accordance with the legal framework.
