Anime Background Artist Kanehira Kazuo's New Print Exhibition Opens in Tokyo and Osaka

Renowned anime background designer Kanehira Kazuo is presenting a solo print exhibition titled “Kanehira Kazuo New Print Exhibition 2026.” The show runs from 28 August to 6 September at Gallery Epikuto in Tokyo’s Chiyoda Ward and from 20 September to 23 September at Breeze Plaza in Osaka’s Kita Ward. It features new woodblock prints such as “Sakuragaoka 16‑chome 256‑ban Night,” limited‑edition large prints of “Ceiling Stars, Night Cherry Blossoms,” and rare hand‑drawn line‑art originals that reveal the artist’s traditional pencil‑on‑grid‑paper technique.

Visitors who purchase prints or merchandise worth ¥3,300 or more can obtain a ticket for a first‑come‑first‑served autograph session with Kanehira on designated days. Additional perks include exclusive posters for all attendees and limited‑run clear‑file folders for those who follow the gallery’s official X account. The exhibition offers fans a chance to experience the locations that originally served as backdrops for series such as SPY×FAMILY, STEINS;GATE, and FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST in a tangible, stand‑alone format.
