Japanese companies launch new character and anime collaborations

Various Japanese companies are launching new merchandise and collaboration campaigns featuring popular anime and character franchises.

Tanita is releasing a collection of 14 items, including a Bluetooth-enabled body composition scale and voice timer, featuring characters from the anime ‘Bocchi the Rock!’. In the character goods sector, San-X is expanding its Rilakkuma line with ‘Ano Koro no Rilakkuma’ themed goods and a bakery-themed collection featuring Sumikko Gurashi. Sanrio is also active with Pom Pom Purin collaborations, including themed sweets from Pastel and new mascot keychains from Munyugurumi Patio.

In the digital and entertainment space, ANYCOLOR Inc. is launching ‘Another Style Goods vol. 1’ for the VTuber group Nijisanji. Kakao Piccoma is beginning the exclusive distribution of the SMARTOON version of the fantasy series ‘The Youngest Son of the Kyoshu Clan’ alongside an anime release. Additionally, Toei Animation has announced a Digimon collaboration at Aquacity Odaiba, featuring themed ramen and novelty items. Other notable releases include Bushiroad Creative’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure figures and an official Helluva Boss pop-up store in Ikebukuro.
