Anime recommendations for fans of Kaiju No. 8

Following the successful debut of Kaiju No. 8, which gained popularity for its unconventional protagonist in his 30s and intense monster battles, viewers seeking similar themes are encouraged to watch several alternative series.

Attack on Titan is noted for its large-scale battles involving colossal monsters and a protagonist who acquires the powers of the creatures he fights, though it maintains a significantly darker and more serious tone than Kaiju No. 8.

Chainsaw Man is highlighted for its distinctive protagonist, Denji, who breaks shonen stereotypes by focusing on basic survival and personal desires rather than grand ambitions. Like Kaiju No. 8, it features a protagonist who transforms into a creature and joins a specialized organization to combat supernatural threats.

Dandadan is also suggested as a comparable option for fans of the genre.
