Aniplex takes over publishing for Fate/EXTRA Record
Aniplex has officially taken over publishing duties for the upcoming RPG remake ‘Fate/EXTRA Record’. This transition follows the previous decision to halt publishing through Bandai Namco Entertainment earlier this year.
Alongside the change in publisher, TYPE-MOON studio BB announced significant structural changes. Kazuya Niiro, who served as the studio director and game director for the project, has departed the studio and stepped down from his role. Niiro stated he is taking a hiatus from game development due to health concerns and will be removing his name from the staff credits.
The game, a remake of the 2010 PSP title, is being developed by Meteorise with planning by TYPE-MOON. It is slated for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. While a specific release date has not been confirmed following recent delays, new official communication channels will be established by Aniplex, with updated information expected in September.
