Anitta discusses faith, career, and identity in TV interview

During an interview on TV Brasil’s program ‘Sem Censura’, singer Anitta discussed several personal and professional milestones. She detailed the inspiration behind her eighth studio album, ‘Equilibrivm II’, which incorporates sounds from Afro-Brazilian religions like Candomblé. Anitta revealed she previously kept her religious devotion a secret due to fears that it would negatively impact her commercial viability and advertising contracts.

The singer also addressed her personal evolution, noting a shift toward discretion in her romantic life and a desire to move away from the dichotomy between her stage persona, ‘Anitta’, and her real identity, ‘Larissa’. She expressed frustration with the societal tendency to judge successful women based on their relationships and noted that her professional achievements often receive less attention than her personal life.

Regarding her career, Anitta commented on the international success of her music, which has reached 182 countries, and noted a significant increase in listeners within Portuguese-speaking nations. She also touched upon her relationship with Brazilian music festivals, suggesting she receives more opportunities abroad than in her home country, though she confirmed her participation in the 2026 Rock the Mountain festival.
