Anitta discusses international career and Travis Scott connection
In an interview with TV Brasil’s program ‘Sem Censura’, Brazilian singer Anitta discussed her international career and personal experiences. She revealed that American rapper Travis Scott reached out to her after showing interest in her music, subsequently incorporating tracks from her album into his performances.
Anitta credited the 2024 release of ‘Funk Generation’ as a pivotal moment for her global connections, noting collaborations such as her work with The Weeknd on the track ‘São Paulo’. She also reflected on the differences between performing at Brazilian festivals, like Rock The Mountain, and international events such as Lollapalooza Berlin.
Regarding her personal life and public image, Anitta addressed the pressure regarding her romantic life and the challenges of navigating political and religious scrutiny. She recalled facing attacks for her silence during a period of political tension in Brazil, explaining that she was focused on her religious initiation into Candomblé at the time. Additionally, she described her professional approach as being a ‘great businesswoman’ and ‘conductor’ of her team, rather than claiming to be the best in every specific musical discipline.
