Anitta discusses new music project and retirement from acting

Brazilian singer Anitta discussed her new musical project, ‘Equilibrium 2’, and her decision to step away from acting during an interview on the program ‘Conversa com Bial’.

Regarding her music, Anitta explained that the new project explores themes of spirituality, identity, and ancestry, developed over a four-year period of self-discovery. She emphasized that this new direction does not reject her previous work in funk or pop, stating, ‘Everything is part of my history’. The project includes collaborations with artists such as Mestrinho, Alceu Valença, and Maria Bethânia. Anitta noted that receiving recognition from Maria Bethânia is a significant milestone in her career.

On the topic of acting, Anitta announced that she will not pursue further roles after completing her first lead role in the film ‘Pedro e Nina’. She described the experience of memorizing scripts and the long waiting hours as difficult, concluding, ‘I’ve seen that I’m not cut out for it’. She has since declined other acting invitations.
