Anitta expands global reach with Equilibrivm Tour and album
Brazilian singer Anitta has launched her Equilibrivm Tour, debuting with performances in São Paulo at Parque Villa-Lobos. The show features scenography inspired by forests and terreiros, focusing on spirituality and connections to Afro-Brazilian and indigenous matrices.
While the tour has sparked social media debate regarding its aesthetic, Anitta has also addressed the intersection of her faith and career. In a recent interview, she revealed she previously avoided discussing her connection to Candomblé due to fears of professional repercussions and religious intolerance. She noted that during a period of religious initiation, she faced criticism for her silence regarding the Brazilian political landscape.
On the commercial front, Anitta’s album “EQUILIBRIVM” has achieved significant international reach, reaching listeners in 182 countries via Spotify. The project has driven nearly 10 million new listeners to the platform. The album’s use of Portuguese and Afro-Brazilian cultural references has seen high engagement in countries such as Portugal, the United States, Mexico, Spain, and Argentina, as well as significant growth in Lusophone African nations like Cape Verde, Mozambique, and Angola.
