Anju Jain: Former Indian women's cricket wicketkeeper-batter

Former Indian women's cricket wicketkeeper-batter Anju Jain has established a significant legacy through her dedication and technical skill. Born in Delhi in 1974, Jain balanced her passion for cricket with academic requirements set by her father, eventually becoming a reliable figure for the national team.

Although she originally preferred batting, Jain took on the wicketkeeping role for the Delhi junior team due to a lack of available players. Over her international career, she played 73 matches for India. Between 1995 and 2003, she played 8 Test matches, scoring 441 runs with an average of 36.75, including one century. In One Day Internationals (ODIs) between 1993 and 2005, she played 65 matches, scoring 1,729 runs with an average of 29.81 and 12 half-centuries.

As a wicketkeeper, she recorded 59 stumpings and 45 catches. Her contributions to the sport earned her the Arjuna Award in 2005. Beyond her playing career, Jain has served as the chairperson of the Indian team's selection committee and has worked as a coach for the Bangladesh women's cricket team and in the Women's Premier League (WPL).
