Anjula Acharia hosts All That Glitters Diwali Ball in New York

The All That Glitters Diwali Ball was held at the Ambassadors Clubhouse in New York City, serving as an annual celebration of South Asian culture, community, and creativity. Created by Anjula Acharia, the invitation-only event was held in partnership with Lexus to benefit South Asian Youth Action.

The evening featured a “Diamonds & Light” dress code, with guests wearing traditional and contemporary South Asian attire, including embellished saris, lehengas, and mirror-work garments. Notable attendees included singer Rhea Raj, Revolve fashion director Divya Mathur, and filmmaker Mira Nair. Designers such as Falguni Shane Peacock, Tarun Tahiliani, and Rahul Mishra were highlighted for their contributions to the event's fashion.

Acharia described the ball as a “love letter” to the South Asian diaspora and to New York City. Attendees noted the growing visibility of Diwali and the increasing influence of South Asian style within Western fashion collections.
