Anka Nikolić celebrates 106th birthday in Grude

Anka Nikolić, a resident of the Vita Care Home in Grude, celebrated her 106th birthday surrounded by staff and fellow residents. Born in 1920 in the village of Ilići near Mostar, Nikolić is part of the well-known Kljajo family.

During the celebration, Nikolić reflected on her long life, recalling her youth in Mostar where her father owned a popular inn. She shared memories of her family, including her late siblings and her husband, Radomir Nikolić, whom she met in the 1940s. Although she currently uses a wheelchair due to a previous fall, she is described by caregivers as having a sharp mind and a positive spirit.

While she expressed sadness that her sons could not be present in person, they sent gifts and a cake for the occasion. Nikolić attributed her longevity to living an orderly life and having caring parents.
