Ankara and Konak host major cultural heritage festivals

Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş opened the restored Ankara Castle during the Kale Şenlikleri, emphasizing the city's historic legacy and the seven‑year restoration of the castle and nearby Ulus district. He highlighted the importance of preserving cultural sites for future generations.

In Konak, the municipality marked the 20th edition of its annual Folk Dance Festival at the Culture Park Open‑Air Theatre. About 400 dancers performed traditional dances from twelve regions, and the event honoured the Down Syndrome group "Temiz Kalpler" with medals.

Both festivals showcased broad community participation and underscored Turkey’s commitment to celebrating and preserving its diverse cultural traditions.
