Ankara baby zebra named 'Pijamalı' by public vote

A female baby zebra born at the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Atatürk Children's Natural Life Park has been named 'Pijamalı' following a public vote. The newborn, weighing approximately 20 kilograms and standing 80 centimeters tall, became a local attraction shortly after its birth.

To decide on a name, park visitors first provided various suggestions. The most popular candidates—'Pijamalı', 'Çizgili', 'Temmuz', and 'Yaz'—were then put to a final vote by returning visitors, with 'Pijamalı' receiving the majority of the preference. The zebra remains under the close supervision of the municipality's veterinary services and continues to grow alongside its mother.
