Ankara Court Sentences Fraudsters to Prison and Fine
The Ankara Western 1st Heavy Criminal Court issued a decision on 10 March 2026 under case No 2025/369, sentencing Halil and his son Mustafa Müderoğlu for fraud involving the use of banks and credit institutions as instruments. The court imposed a fine of 25,000 Turkish lira and a prison term of three years and four months, pursuant to Article 158/1‑L of the Turkish Penal Code.
Because the defendants could not be located to receive the judgment, the court ordered the decision to be served by public announcement, deeming it effective 15 days after the announcement date. The ruling also outlines procedural steps for appeals to the Ankara Regional Court of Appeals and notes that the court costs will be borne by the state.
