Ankara dam occupancy rates fall below 42 percent

Water reservoir levels in Ankara have dropped below the 42 percent threshold. According to data from the Ankara Water and Sewerage Administration (ASKİ), the total dam occupancy rate was recorded at approximately 41.82 to 41.93 percent in late August 2026.

As of August 24 and 25, the total water volume in the dams was measured at approximately 610 million cubic meters, while the active usable water amount stood at roughly 456 to 458 million cubic meters. The active occupancy rate was reported at approximately 35 percent.

Daily water supply to the city remains around 1.6 million cubic meters. Major sources contributing to the network include the Çamlıdere, Kurtboğazı, and Kesikköprü dams, with the İvedik Water Treatment Plant serving as a primary distribution point.
