Turkish municipalities launch social, cultural, and disaster relief initiatives

Various municipal initiatives are underway across Turkey, focusing on social inclusion, education, and disaster preparedness. In Muğla, the ‘İz Bırakan Kalpler Atölyesi’ brought together 60 children with special needs and 60 parents for a creative workshop involving bag design and a fashion show. Additionally, the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality completed a four-week ‘Little Farmers Academy’ to teach children about agriculture and nature, and launched a ‘Bousai’ disaster awareness course using game-based learning for children.

In Ankara, the Metropolitan Municipality is hosting the ‘Ankara Culture Stage Meetings’ at Seğmenler Park, featuring over 30 events including theater, musical performances, and workshops. Meanwhile, in Antalya, teams from the Metropolitan Municipality are conducting damage assessments in the Kaş district following a recent forest fire that impacted residential and agricultural areas. In Alanya, a chess tournament was held for children at the ATABEM Course Center to support mental and social development.
