Ankara hosts first Muslim Diaspora Forum

The first Muslim Diaspora Forum, titled ‘From Roots to Paths’, has commenced in Ankara, Turkey. The event brings together representatives from Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states, diaspora organizations, government officials, and experts to strengthen solidarity among Muslim diasporas.

The forum aims to enhance the effectiveness of diaspora activities in their host countries, develop state-diaspora relations, and identify new opportunities for international cooperation. Key participants include Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora Chairman Fuad Muradov, and Pakistan’s Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain.

Discussions have focused on the necessity of closer coordination and cooperation among Muslim diasporas to address global challenges and more efficiently utilize their potential. Azerbaijani officials emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with Azerbaijanis living abroad, supporting their organization, and preserving their national identity while facilitating their integration into the socio-political life of their host nations.
