Ankara businessman Ramazan Arıkan murdered for inheritance

An indictment has been prepared against six individuals, including the former wife, children, and the former wife's partner, for the premeditated murder of Ankara businessman Ramazan Arıkan. The investigation reveals that Arıkan, who possessed assets valued between 400 and 500 million lira, was killed to facilitate access to his inheritance.

According to the indictment and forensic reports, the suspects used xylazine—a substance colloquially known as ‘dana deviren’—to incapacitate Arıkan during a picnic in Keçiören on November 16, 2025. After the victim became disoriented from the drug being added to his food and drink, he was taken to his former wife's home, where suspects allegedly injected him with toxic substances in his heart and hip to ensure his death.

Evidence includes phone records, camera footage, and forensic reports. Intercepted communications show suspects discussing the need to delete messages and format phones to hide their involvement. One suspect, Batuhan Arıkan, claimed he did not prevent the act because his father had been violent toward the family. A previous attempt to poison Arıkan with rat poison in the summer of 2025 reportedly failed.
