Ankara Metropolitan Municipality advances urban renewal projects

The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality is advancing several urban renewal and infrastructure projects across the city. On Ahmet Uncu Avenue, crews have begun superstructure works following the completion of infrastructure manufacturing. To minimize traffic disruption, hot asphalt paving is being conducted during night hours. This project aims to improve transportation standards and safety for several neighborhoods, including Ertuğrulgazi, Karacaoğlan, and Mevlâna.

In the Ulus district, Mayor Mansur Yavaş announced the completion of street beautification and urban design works on Anafartalar Avenue. The project involved the renovation of 154 structures, 25 of which are registered historical buildings. Yavaş emphasized that the transformation focuses on preserving the cultural fabric and social ties of the local tradespeople rather than just physical renovation.

Scheduled for opening on October 13, the revitalized area will include a Technopark with 1,100 rooms and a Pharmacy Museum. Additionally, Yavaş has proposed converting the former courthouse building into a museum through discussions with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
