Ankara Metropolitan Municipality hosts disaster awareness run
The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality organized a ‘Disaster Awareness Run’ at Göksu Park to mark International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction. The event aimed to increase public consciousness regarding disaster preparedness and community resilience.
Led by the municipality’s Disaster Works and Risk Management Department, the program included practical educational sessions. Participants received training in basic first aid, covering essential skills such as CPR and injury stabilization. Officials emphasized that being prepared for earthquakes and other emergencies is a collective social responsibility, noting that the municipality has developed specific risk reduction and intervention plans.
The event also featured cultural elements, including performances by a local Seymen troupe, to encourage community engagement and solidarity.
