Ankara State Theatre to tour play in North Macedonia and Kosovo

The Ankara State Theatre is launching a tour of the play ‘Göğe Yazılmış Bir Alp’ across North Macedonia and Kosovo to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Ziya Gökalp’s birth.

Following a press conference at the Yunus Emre Institute in Skopje, the tour schedule includes performances in Gostivar on September 9 and at the Skopje Comedy Theatre on September 10. The final stop will be Prizren, Kosovo, where the play will serve as the closing production of the 2nd International Prizren Turkish Theatre Festival on September 13.

Sayit Yusuf, Deputy Secretary General of TÜRKSOY, noted that the project is part of a broader effort to honor significant figures in the Turkic world, highlighting that 2026 has been declared the ‘Ziya Gökalp Commemoration Year’.
