Ankara to host 13th Turkic States Organization Summit
Ankara will host the 13th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) on October 29-30. The summit, hosted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, follows Azerbaijan's term as presidency and aims to deepen political integration and economic ties under the 'Turkic World 2040 Vision'.
Economic discussions will focus on the Middle Corridor, improving border crossings, and reducing logistics costs. Trade volumes between Turkey and OTS members—Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan—are projected to reach $16.9 billion by 2025, up from $10.4 billion in 2021. Kazakhstan currently leads as Turkey's top export partner in the region with $3.2 billion in exports.
Separately, a Caspian Sea ecological summit was held in the Awaza national tourism zone of Turkmenistan. Chaired by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and attended by leaders from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, and Russia, the summit resulted in the adoption of a Joint Solution to protect the Caspian marine environment and promote sustainable development.
