Violence in Mersin and Ankara leaves woman injured and vendor dead
Two separate violent incidents have been reported in Turkey involving attacks on local workers.
In Mersin, a group of approximately 15 people engaged in a violent confrontation involving knives, sticks, and chains in the Akdeniz district. Arife Civan, a mother of three working at a dessert shop, sustained broken bones to her arm and leg during the attack. Four suspects—Süleyman G., Durmuş G., Mehmet A. C., and Turhan D.—were arrested and sent to prison following the incident.
In Ankara, a 46-year-old street food vendor, Ali Arduç, was killed following a dispute over a payment in the Altındağ district. A customer, identified as İ. Ö., allegedly attacked Arduç with a paving stone and proceeded to kick him while he was on the ground. Arduç passed away in the hospital two days after the assault. The suspect, İ.
