Anke Holštajn becomes Germany's new Ambassador to Serbia
Anke Gizela Holštajn has officially presented her credentials to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, becoming the new German Ambassador to Serbia. She succeeds Anke Konrad in the role.
Holštajn brings extensive diplomatic experience within the Western Balkans and European institutions. Her previous roles include serving as the German Ambassador to North Macedonia (2020–2022) and Djibouti, as well as Deputy Head of Mission in Tirana and Ljubljana. Most recently, she served as a Minister Counselor at the German Embassy in Moscow.
A linguist by training, Holštajn speaks six foreign languages, including English, French, Slovenian, Albanian, Russian, and Serbian. Her career has included significant positions within the German Federal Foreign Office and the European Commission.
