Anker and Volvo introduce new portable power and charging technologies
Anker has introduced the MagGo 3-in-1, a foldable charging base designed for the Apple ecosystem. The compact accessory uses MagSafe modules to charge an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods simultaneously, making it a portable alternative to carrying multiple cables. While its foldable design allows it to function as a phone stand, its 15W charging power for iPhones is noted as relatively low compared to some specialized alternatives.
In the automotive sector, Volvo has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update for the EX30 electric vehicle to enable Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality. This technology allows the car's battery to power external electrical devices, such as coffee makers, power tools, or camping equipment, by using a V2L adapter connected to the charging port. The system provides up to 3 kW of power and 16 amps, with an automatic shut-off feature to prevent excessive battery depletion.
