Anker SOLIX X1 battery powers luxury home in Epping, New South Wales

A high‑end residence in Epping, NSW, has been equipped with a 60 kWh Anker SOLIX X1 residential battery, linked to a 40 kW rooftop solar system. The installation, described as the largest Anker system in the Southern Hemisphere, was designed after a detailed energy audit by Smooth Current Electrical & Solar to meet the home’s substantial power needs, including extensive lighting, climate control, a temperature‑controlled wine cellar and a motorised pop‑up whisky bar.

Before the upgrade, the household’s electricity bills averaged about AU$8,000 per quarter. After adding the solar array and the battery, quarterly costs fell to roughly AU$3,000, as the system stores excess solar generation for use after sunset. Interior designer Darren Genner of Studio Minosa highlighted the seamless integration of the energy system with the home’s luxurious finishes and technology‑rich environment.
