Two suspected sharpshooters, identified as Mohit and Sumit, were killed in a police encounter in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, following the murder of Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Baliyan. The suspects, who were residents of Sonipat, Haryana, were allegedly linked to the Gogi gang. Police reported that the encounter occurred near an Indian Gas warehouse after the suspects opened fire on a police team.

The murder of Baliyan, which took place on August 26 outside a gym, is reportedly linked to a song he released titled ‘Court Me Goli’. Authorities suggest the Gogi gang took offense to the track, perceiving it as an insult or an endorsement of a rival gang.

Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police Rajeev Krishna stated that the investigation will extend beyond the shooters to uncover the entire criminal network involved in the conspiracy. While Baliyan’s family welcomed the police action, they described it as ‘half justice’ and are calling for the arrest of the remaining two suspects, Aryan and Satyam, who are currently absconding.
