Haryanvi singer, actor, and YouTuber Ankit Baliyan was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday evening. The attack occurred around 7:00 PM as Baliyan was exiting a gym in the Aryapuri area. CCTV footage captured the incident, showing approximately four attackers on two motorcycles opening fire on him.

Reports indicate that between 12 and 25 rounds were fired during the attack. A postmortem report revealed that Baliyan sustained nine gunshot wounds, including injuries to his head and abdomen. Following the shooting, the attackers fled the scene toward Haryana.

A social media post allegedly linked to the Gogi gang, posted by an individual named Bholu Shahpuria, claimed responsibility for the murder. The post suggested the killing was retaliation for a song Baliyan released regarding the 2021 death of gangster Jitendra Gogi.

The incident has sparked significant local unrest, leading to protests and road blockages by fans and residents demanding immediate justice. Baliyan's father has issued a four-day ultimatum to the police for the arrest of the culprits. Multiple police teams, including units sent to Haryana, are currently investigating the murder and examining CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
