Çankırı signs agricultural protocol with Migros

A new contract farming protocol has been signed in Çankırı to connect local farmers directly with national market chains. Coordinated by the Çankırı Governor's Office and the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, the agreement with Migros aims to provide purchase guarantees for producers.

The project focuses on reducing intermediaries and increasing farmer income by facilitating direct access to national markets. Priority will be given to the production of salt, rice, melon, and pepper. Local officials noted that the region's fertile lands and existing irrigation infrastructure, such as the Koyunbaba and Kızlaryolu dams, support the development of a sustainable product portfolio.
